What Are the Online Biomimicry Graduate Certificate Requirements?

Arizona State University offers a unique online biomimicry graduate certificate program. Students must have earned either a bachelor's degree or a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.

Students who are interested in enrolling in the Arizona State University online biomimicry graduate certificate program and who have a bachelor's degree must have earned a minimum of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale in the last 60 hours of their bachelor's degree program. Individuals who have a master's degree and wish to enroll in the program must have earned a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA in their master's program.

Prospective students are also required to submit a variety of documentation. These documents include:

  • Official transcripts from all previously attended accredited institutions
  • Graduate admissions application along with the required application fee 
  • Current resume or curriculum vitae 
  • Personal statement 

Any student applicant who wishes to enroll in the program whose native language is not English must provide the required proof of English proficiency. The requirement applies to applicants regardless of their current residency.

What Types of Classes are Included in the Online Biomimicry Graduate Certificate Curriculum?

Biomimicry Thinking is an intensive 15-week course that covers a variety of design processes, scoping, discovery and evaluation.

Life's Principles is a 12-week online course that takes students on a "deep dive of Life's Principles."

The Virtual Design Lab Practicum explores the tools and resources that are presented in the program. Students then apply them to their own specific and unique opportunities.
